FAQ’s

Parking

You may park in any of the five carparks to the left of the house OR any of the carparks in the back car-park.

Accessibility

Unfortunately, we do not have wheelchair access at this time, entry into the salon space is via stairs only.

What’s the public transport situation?

We’re located a few blocks from Fairfield Train Station and walking distance to multiple bus stops on Ipswich/Annerley road.

Can I bring a reference image to my booking?

YES, please bring images on your phone of your hair inspo. We freaking love photos, we’re visual people and they really help us! We recommend researching your hair inspo on Pinterest. Collect as many pictures as you wish, however we’ll often ask you to choose your top two to help us narrow down options.

Are emotional support people or animals allowed with me?

YES, you may bring an emotional support human or animal. You don’t need to notify us before-hand, however if you do bring multiple people please be aware/considerate of other humans sensory sensitives during your appointment.

Please note – as to not overwhelm our staff and other clients – only one person may enter the styling room with you.
Please ensure conversations are quiet as to not disturb the peace of anyone else in the room πŸ™‚

Can I bring headphones, loops or figets to my appointment?

YES, bring your fidgets, loops and headphones. Whilst we offer fidget toys at every station, we’re more than happy for you to bring your own!
You’re also welcome to wear headphones (plugs only) or loops, we may ask you to remove them throughout the service if they impede our ability to complete your service.

I have sensory sensitivities, is this going to be a problem?

ABSOLUTELY NOT, if you feel comfortable sharing – please let us know about your own sensory sensitivities. For example, noise/touch/smell etc. We may not be able to completely accommodate your needs, however being aware of them help us to understand how to make you feel comfortable throughout your experience at the parlour.

I don’t want to talk to my stylist other than to tell them my service requirements, is that okay?

YES, tell us if you would like a quiet service. We understand you may feel uncomfortable with conversation throughout your appointment. Please just let us know if you’d like your appointment to be quiet, and we’ll keep the conversation only to your hair processes. Some of us also find it hard to take social ques, and we will not be offended if you request this.

Why will you ask me if I’d like a hair wash at my appointment? (this question applies to haircuts only)

you do not need to have your hair washed at your appointment (haircuts only). We will ask you – prior to a haircut – if you would like your hair shampooed with us for the following reasons:
-It usually takes us the same amount of time to wash your hair as it does to wet your hair down with a spray-bottle.
– for some people, getting their hair washed is super relaxing and we hear time and time again “it’s the best bit”, however, we do understand not everybody feels this way due to sensory sensitivities. Please don’t feel obligated either way, it’s all about your comfortability.

if you know you do not want a hair wash when you visit; if you can manage it, please wash your own hair 24 – 48 hours before your appointment.

Really specific details about what to expect when you come in for your appointment, step-by-step
  • You will be greeted and seated in the waiting area, or if the stylist is ready they will bring you straight through to the chair you will have your service in
  • You will be offered a drink from our complimentary drinks menu
We recommend not accepting hot drinks until your colour is processing as sometimes it’s hard to move around while your stylist is colouring. Haircuts, go for gold.
See below for full menu to peruse, sometimes we run out of stuff unexpectedly so please choose two options
  • Your stylist will sit down with you and discuss your appointment requirements. They will ask questions to help them understand you better. Things like:

    – what are your pro-nouns?

    – basic details about your previous cut/colour, including how long ago your last hair service was (on average, weeks/months/years)

    – what your requirements are and if you have reference photos

    – if you have any scalp concerns or conditions (psoriasis, dermatitis, dry, itchy etc)

    – how you style your hair at home (it’s okay if you don’t style, more just to give us an idea of how your hair sits on a regular basis ie. naturally wavy, up in a pony-tail, sometimes straighten sometimes curl etc).

    – if you have any sensory sensitivities we need to be aware of (noise/touch/smell etc)

    – is there anything in previous hair services that we need to be aware of that you disliked (whether it be directly hair related or atmosphere related. Absolutely no judgement if its atmosphere related, we just want to make sure that your experience is amazing with us.)
  • You will be given an idea of pricing and time-frame. Sometimes these can vary and we will try our best to update you throughout the service if we’re going to take longer. Also sometimes we forget to ask these two questions, so please feel free to ask these questions of us if we do!

We have gluten free & vegan snack options to serve with our beverages, please let us know if you require either/both.
